Some stuff about the gig and the day in general
Hmmm, I have pondered over whether or not to write anything about Monday. Tonight, as there is no CSI on, I have decided: yes.
The brief history is that we found out about the gigs and I was umming and ahing over whether or not to go. I could do with not spending the money as I am going to The Most Expensive Wedding in the World....Ever TM the following weekend, London is horrid to country folk and we are hitting an extremely crazy time in work, so I’d feel guilty taking the time off. Turns out, not that guilty.

I went to both the secret Hoxton gigs, but instead of reviewing the gigs as shows individually, I decided to analyse each of the songs in a paragraph each; I hope this will help James more than comments on their live presence!

Last night proved to be an odd experience, mixing the familiar with the completely unfamiliar- with 15 new songs. Was it 15? The setlist they handed out to a dozen or so people had 15 on, but once I'd stuffed it in my pocket as a memento, I only stayed within a track or two of remembering which song we'd got to. The odd chorus helped me out a little. As a result, some of the comments involve analysis of songs I'm not even sure what they were, after A/B especially. So I'll compensate by talking about, y'know, feelings and that.

The Smell Of Victory - Special Edition |

Here it is, finally on Egoiste, my story of April 2007.
Yes, you will see illegal driving, arguments with prostitutes, dangerous drug cocktails, steam-ruined hotel rooms, poorly planned drinking games, annoying train journeys, London on the cheap, and missed coaches. Oh, and a few gigs by this band I like.
This is the special edition, which means it contains about 3% more text. Actually, all I added were a few more references to stress how big a thing it was for me to do (and it was big), and a few subtle (and not so subtle) bits that were originally intended as a joke to cheer me up one lunchtime. Also, it leaves it open for a sequel.
I hope the formatting turned out alright.

Apparently there were two new songs. Setlist (borrowed from One Of The Three) was Born Of Frustration, Tomorrow, Sit Down, Chain Mail, Play Dead, Out To Get You, Bubbles, Not So Strong, Hey Mom, Say Something, Laid, Gold Mother, Ring The Bells, Sometimes, Upside Downside, Getting Away With It (All Messed Up) and She's A Star.
Anyone who went please submit a review, we'd all love to read it.
