James (well, that is to say, Tim, Jim and Larry - so "James Lite") are headlining the annual Manchester leg of the Versus Cancer concerts. It is due to happen on December 12.

 

According to an official source on the James Mailing List, "James Lite" will be performing some arrangements of their songs having worked with composer Joe Duddell. There are also mentions of the BBC Phlharmonic Orchestra playing alongside some of the artists.

 

Other artists confirmed for Manchester Versus Cancer include Andy Rourke of The Smiths, Peter Hook of New Order and Badly Drawn Boy, with more to be announced later this month.

 

"James Lite" issued the following statement:

 

"We can't wait to get started on the arrangements and to work with such an amazing orchestra. The night looks set to be something that neither we, nor our fans will forget, and it's great to be involved with such an important cause."
